About Diane

With a creative spirit and a technical mind, Diane Kulseth has served as a Three Deep's Interactive Marketing Associate since June 2011, and was an intern at Three Deep prior to that. However, she’ll be the first to tell you that her work spans far beyond her job titles, having been an integral part of a variety of projects, including business development case studies and videos, linkbuilding, managing the Three Deep brand through social media and event representation, research for a variety of speaking engagements, leading planning committees for Three Deep hosted events, and managing SEO content strategy for the company website among other needs. Some of the clients that Diane works with include Ajasa, Acorn, Window World, Nestle Nutrition, Summa Health, and BOOST.

Before coming to Three Deep, Diane held internships with both the UST Career Development Center and the State of Minnesota Job Bank, MinnesotaWorks.net. At both places, she was responsible for marketing and PR initiatives as well as technology support and web analytics. It was through those internships that Diane developed an interest in interactive marketing which led her happily to Three Deep.

Diane says that she has loved her time at Three Deep Marketing because it allows her to combine her love of all things creative with her love of technology. While she just recently graduated from the University of St. Thomas with a degree in Marketing Management and dual minors in Catholic Studies and Music Performance, she already moved to her next learning opportunity which was to complete the SEO Copywriting Certification. Her next stop is to join the GA Jedi ranks (a.k.a. Obtain her Google Analytics Individual Qualification).

When she’s not busy with work, Diane loves to go swing dancing with friends or peruse the mall in search of a perfect purchase. She is also almost never found without one of her pink Apple products as she is always writing down ideas for different pieces or rocking out to the latest Glee release. With a self-proclaimed obsession for writing, Diane has been published over 25 times in local and national publications, including magazines, poetry anthologies, newspapers and more. In the future, she hopes to write a book, but if that doesn’t happen, she plans to pursue her Masters of Advertising degree with a Copywriting focus. Who knows what the future may hold, but Diane is simply happy finding new ways to just keep writing.

Social Analytics Tools vs. Google Analytics

A few weeks back, I received two emails back to back in my inbox. This is a regular occurrence of course, but both of these were promoting two different social analytics tools. One was for Instagram, the other for Pinterest. If you subscribe to news from any of the various social software programs, you’ll discover that they are quick to innovate a new way to track metrics for the latest social network.

Lead Generation, the Olympics, & Dr. Dre

Yesterday, I was doing my regular run-through of the news, especially focused on the Olympics coverage. I saw a headline that informed me that Dr. Dre had distributed numerous national versions of his popular Beats headphones to the hotels where Olympians were staying. Among the most used were from the British team.
